The 'Stuti' brought from Humla ( Naming ceremony) celebrated in Tulsalaya

Kathmandu- Former Secretary to the Government of Nepal Bhim Prasad Upadhyay wrote on his Facebook status on January 16, "A mother in Humla has died within five hours of giving birth to her sixth daughter. Saru Subediji's Tulsalaya has prepared to rescue the three youngest of the six girls and foster them.
Many people have responded to his status. There are words of tribute to the deceased mother, apart from that, there are also general promises of support for the 14-day-old daughter. More than that, many have thanked Saru Subedi, who is running the Tulsadevi Harihar Foundation, for taking the initiative for such work.

Ganesh Pokharel has written, "No matter how much praise is given to Tulsalaya and Saru Subedi for such great work", Shanta Naral writes, "We had a talk with Saru Bahini, how could it be possible to bring such a small child. After all, he dared, this is what the mother of all means.

32-year-old Gaura Chhatyal of Adanchuli-5 in Humla gave birth to her sixth child, a daughter, on 29th of December. But the mother died in childbirth without being able to see her daughter's face properly. Soon after landing on the earth, the mother abandoned her and the newborn baby was left alone. Now the days of Bichalli also started for his sister. Babu Gorakh Chhatyal is from a poor family and an asthmatic. Now that he no longer has a wife, how can he raise six daughters with a newborn baby?

Kamal Chhatyal, who is a relative of Gorakh, informed Saru Subedi about the baby over the phone. She was only 14 days old. Later, after being asked by local pilgrims Rokaya and Jayaraj Chhatyal, Saru decided to bring the child and her two sisters aged 5 and 7 to Tulsalaya.

"When I heard about the condition of the child, I wanted to bring her to Kathmandu as soon as possible, but I started to feel stressed about how to bring three children including her, who are only two weeks old, by ship from Humla to Nepalganj. And the cost problem is happening again. Then I wrote on Facebook asking for help to bring those daughters here. Some help came and I raised the rest myself and put it on a ship from Nepalganj and brought it to Kathmandu", says Saru.

Now the child and her two sisters aged 5 and 7 are in Tulsalaya, Lalitpur Nakhkhudol, Saru. Saru, who brought the 21-day-old baby in her arms, has taken care of her. Saru established the Tulsalaya Ashram in the memory of his mother Tulsadevi who passed away at a young age. Now there are 26 orphans and children from poor families in that ashram. There are 30 people from 29-day-old babies to 72-year-olds. She established the Tulsalaya Harihar Foundation and is taking care of those 30 people through grants and support. On their birthdays, wedding anniversaries and other occasions, people go here to provide food to the orphans and provide financial support.

Coincidentally, on the day her daughter Hriya turned 24, the 21-day-old baby entered Tulsalaya. "I feel like my next child is born in Humla after 24 years, for me it is God," says Saru. She was crying since she was born and calmed down when she came into Saru's arms. Saru says, "What a surprise that she came to my arms at Nepalgunj Airport and looked at my face like that, she remained silent. She looked at the mouth for a moment and cried. I thought she finally found a mother. That's why I also called her my youngest daughter."

She has not been rescued. Tomorrow, Friday, Saru is preparing for her 30-day recovery. The ashram has recently been moved to Changunarayan in Bhaktapur due to narrowness in Nakhkhudol. Saru said, "Tomorrow, my daughter will be 30 days old, I am preparing to do her nawaran and perform pooja at the ashram house" Saru said on Thursday morning. The name Prakriti was kept in the birth certificate made to bring Kathmandu. But Saru has thought of naming her Stuti. Why did you choose the name Stuti? Ru Saru says, "Through this youngest child of Tulsalaya, I have praised God so that Nepali mothers do not have to give birth to six or six daughters for their sons, and that no parents can raise their children in this way." Therefore, the idea is to honor her name."

There were many reports of snowfall this year. On the 20th of January, there was heavy snowfall in Karnali and several parts of the Midwest, sometimes the planes did not fly, sometimes there was a problem in communication. Saru says, "I reached Nepalganj and stayed but what a problem to get there from Humla." The cold is the same. I was worried that how will they bring that baby girl from Humla in such a cold and I will bring her to Kathmandu. After holding the baby in my arms, I put on the warm clothes I had brought from Kathmandu. She wore a diaper but did not clean the stool for several days. I cleaned everything. After coming to my hand, she stopped crying for a few moments, and it became easier. After bringing Kathmandu, I am now under her care. If you leave your arms for a moment, she starts crying, you have to hold her. Perhaps there are 26 children in the ashram, but she loves her more. And everyone else has also started loving her as a sister."

Saru has received some assistance for the journey from Humla to Kathmandu. Perhaps she has 26 children in the ashram, but she needs help in raising those three sisters. "Ilya Bhattarai sister, brother Ashesh Malla and sister-in-law and Sarla sister from America have given support and encouragement. Milk has been arranged for the baby girl.
